CARE & HANDLING GUIDELINES

Protecting your Brenlo Products.

Proper care and handling are essential to maintain the quality and performance of your Brenlo products. Follow our best practices for storage, acclimatization, and installation to ensure your doors and mouldings remain in excellent condition from start to finish.

DOORS

STORAGE

  • Store doors upright on a level surface or in a secure rack.
  • Keep in a controlled 45-55% RH environment: avoid high humidity or temperature fluctuations.

HANDLING

  • Handle carefully to avoid scuffs and dents; use protective coverings if transporting.
  • Always carry doors vertically to minimize stress and potential warping.

FINISHING & INSTALLATION

  • Ensure doors are acclimatized in the room for at least 48 hours before fitting.
  • Seal doors on all 6 sides, including top and bottom, to protect from moisture.
  • Use appropriate hardware and follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for hinge placement and clearance.

MAINTENANCE

  • Clean with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and soft cloth.
  • Inspect periodically for signs of wear or movement around hinges and hardware.

MOULDINGS

STORAGE

  • Keep mouldings in a cool, dry area, away from direct sunlight or moisture.
  • Lay flat on a level surface to prevent warping.

HANDLING

  • Handle with clean gloves or hands to avoid oils, dirt, or scratches.
  • Avoid dragging or dropping to prevent dents and damage.

FINISHING & INSTALLATION

  • Allow mouldings to acclimate in the room where they’ll be installed for at least 48 hours.
  • Seal or prime all sides (including end cuts) before final installation to protect from moisture.
  • Use recommended fasteners and adhesives to secure mouldings firmly.

MAINTENANCE

  • Dust regularly with a soft cloth or vacuum brush attachment.
  • Wipe clean with a slightly damp, non-abrasive cloth if needed.

DECKING

STORAGE

  • Keep decking boards elevated and evenly supported, in  a covered ventilated space to protect them from direct weather exposure.
  • Prevent moisture buildup by ensuring good air circulation around the boards.

HANDLING

  • Lift and carry boards individually to avoid bending or damage.
  • Use protective gloves to reduce the risk of splinters or scratches.

FINISHING & INSTALLATION

  • Check moisture levels before installation to avoid cupping or warping.
  • Use rust-resistant or stainless-steel fasteners designed for decking.
  • Consider applying a protective sealant or stain to guard against UV damage and moisture.

MAINTENANCE

  • Sweep regularly to remove debris.
  • Clean periodically with a deck-specific cleaning solution.
  • Reapply stain or sealant as recommended to maintain color and protect against the elements.
